Yoki Maurx

Yoki Maurx is a U.S. Army Veteran who served in the Army’s elite 3rd US Infantry. After leaving active duty in 2005, Yoki joined the Albuquerque Police Department, where he has spent the last seven years working in various parts of the department. Yoki graduated 2nd in his class from the Albuquerque Police Academyand spent the next few years concentrating on learning and developing his skills as a patrol officer around some of Albuquerque’s roughest neighborhoods.

In 2007 Yoki joined the US Army Reserves. Due to his training and skill sets, he was assigned to the prestigious Small Arms Readiness Group (SARG) based out of San Antonio, TX. Members of SARG are tasked with training USAR and National Guard soldiers on marksmanship skills prior to being deployed. While with the SARG, Yoki was trained to be an instructor on multiple weapons systems. It was also with the SARG that Yoki was selected to go to the Warrior Leadership Course (WLC) so he could be promoted to Sergeant. Today, Yoki, brings all of his specialized weapons training to his firearms classes in Albuquerque, NM.

Yoki, an avid martial artist and defensive tactician, was the head instructor of Shockwave Defense for almost seven years. He has trained under Master Johnson since the age of 14 and was one of two individuals next-in-command to Master Johnson.

During his free time, Yoki enjoys competitive shooting, such as 3 Gun competitions and other shooting events that focus on tactical and real world shooting skills.

Ben Rosecrans

Ben Rosecrans is a veteran of the United States Army where he served with the 25th Infantry Division nicknamed “Tropic Lightning”. The 25th ID is composed of Stryker, light infantry, airborne, and aviation units. While serving in Mosul, Iraq as a Stryker operator, Ben was wounded when his patrol was attacked by a vehicle borne improvised explosive device (VBIED). He sustained second and third degree burns, and numerous other injuries, as a result of the attack. After spending the next 8 months recovering from his injuries, Ben was medically retired from the Army as a result from the injuries he sustained in combat.

With his military and combat experience, Ben brings practical real world knowledge to Warrior’s Edge Armory, whether it’s through firearms training or by helping people select the right gun for their personal protection. Ben has received advanced training on multiple weapons systems, infantry tactics, and close quarter tactics. Additionally, Ben is trained in hand-to-hand combat, defensive tactics and combat first-aid as part of his military training.

After retiring from the military, Ben worked in the firearm industry as a salesman at a local sporting goods store in Albuquerque. During his time there, he was the go-to individual when customers came in with questions about self-defense weaponry. This experience furthered his knowledge regarding effective self-defense firearms and ammunition selection.
